Hello everyone!

What are you grateful for?

Right now I am grateful for the waters. We have been getting many a rain storm the last days since we arrived in Germany. They remind me to flow with what comes our way. (Are you packing rain gear?!)

This year we are hoping for clear skies, but we also feel well prepared to gather under whatever weather comes our way.

I will be as succinct and clear as I can in this message.

The Von Hand staff & work traders really appreciate when each participant reads through this email before the festival starts!

If there is anything I miss, or if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reply or email here.

Announcements & Need to Know

• If you have not booked your food ticket yet - please do so ASAP! - https://vonhandfestival.com/tickets/p/food-tickets-adult-teen
• WORKSHOPS & TICKETS: There are still Workshops and Tickets available! Any workshops that haven’t filled before the festival will be available for on site booking too. Please bring cash. You can see all open workshops here: https://vonhandfestival.com/workshops
• When you arrive we will ask everyone to sign up for a slot to support in the kitchen. This will be 1-2 hours of giving back to the community and our shared meals. This will mostly be doing dishes together for the kitchen or chopping things for the next meals! It was a highlight of many folks last year :)

Arrival & Departure

Registration will open Sunday August 3rd at 2pm (if you planned to arrive before that please let us know via email/text and we will accommodate your arrival).

We will have an opening Circle at 17:00 and then we share our first dinner together at 18/19:00

We have Andreas who lives locally and (has generously ) offered shuttles from the Koblenz train station. Please get in touch with him directly - +49 1517 5027034

• Parking:

When you arrive PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY & CAREFULLY!!! The road is narrow and there are other groups using the venue; many of them are children.

RV/CAMPER/CAR CAMPING was pre booked and will be right next to the main camping and festival site - if you missed the Camper booking we cannot guarantee close parking of you VAN/CAMPER.

CAR PARKING - All cars that don’t fit near the venue will park in town: 4km away. (We will confirm the parking spot when you arrive) - If you need to drop off camping and other gear you can drive in to the main festival site to drop off and then return to park your vehicle before setting up your camp.

CARPOOLING & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

If you are able to carpool/rideshare please do so. We have many requests on our Instagram carpool thread here:https://www.instagram.com/p/DJWR8MNIHlw/?igsh=MXdjZXo1amg3ajMzNQ==.

If you don’t have instagram please respond to me and I’ll see if we can link you up with someone.

• Registration: Please bring a form of ID for registration; that’s all you need! Our staff will be in charge of registration. Registration will be setup in the large Marquee (the really big tent here - Site #5). Our worktraders will also be around to help orient you.
• Departure: The gathering officially ends Saturday after lunch around 1 or 2pm. We will have a closing circle Sunday after breakfast followed by a group site clean up, and then our last meal together. Whenever you must depart please leave spaces better than you found them and make sure you gather all of your belongings. Any help in the final clean up throughout saturday & sunday is greatly appreciated. This gathering is a community effort.

Food

If you have not booked your food ticket yet - please do so ASAP!

Bring your own Bowl, Plate, Cup, & Cutlery! We will not have any extra onsite.

• As a reminder food will be vegetarian with vegan options. Local meat sausages will be available for purchase a few nights of the week (2-3€ each). If you would like additional meat and snacks please bring them for yourself.

• We cannot provide food storage or refrigeration.

• There is also no electricity available to plug in electric coolers.

  Coffee & Tea throughout the day

  We invite folks to bring something to contribute for the coffee & tea table: Fresh fruit, cookies, cake, Dried Fruit, etc.

  Beer & Sodas will be available for an additional cost (paid for with cash/coins)
